The Kormic Connection - Korma from raw banana peel

I tried this, I tried that, I tried everything I could, under the sky - to keep everyone happy, but it didn’t happen. Gave up 9-5 job and started working from home to keep mum-in-law happy…okay that was 9-9, but then that’s how it is with everyone. Stopped shopping – to keep Hubby happy, cooked alien food everyday to keep little S happy…… but there’s always a gap! However hard you try there is still that little something that you have missed and that’s where everyone points at! So I gave up trying and did today what would make me happy. Yes, that is what I did whole of today. I did a hair treatment at home-one that I have been yearning to do since long, went to the parlor to get a facial (!),  cooked what I like to eat, and didn’t take S’s studies. And I realized that all my stress comes from making him do his lessons!
Since I did everything for myself today, I decided to cook the dish with raw banana peels, I loved as a child. Who doesn’t know we Bengalis have a penchant for all discards! We cook and relish the peels of literally every vegetable!
Love it I did, but never tried my hands at it before today. So tringgg! Went a call to the sleepy town of Durgapur, and as always MOM did her bit, by helping with the recipe. Here goes….

Korma from raw banana skin

What you’ll need:
Green plantain skin: I used 2 bananas
Potato: 1 medium diced
Onion seeds/ Black Nigella seeds/kalojire: 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder: 1 tsp
Coriander prd: 1 tsp
Garam masala pdr: 1 tsp
Ginger paste : 1 tsp
Tomato : paste of one small
Salt : ½ tsp
Turmeric: ½ tsp`
Oil: 2 tsp

How you’ll do it:
Step 1: separateThick peels from the bananas.Peel off the green outer layer, from the peels, the fibres will have to be removed like this.

Step 2: Lightly steam  the peels

Step 3: Make a paste of the boiled banana peels

Step 4: Heat oil in a wok and throw in the nigella (kalojire/onion) seeds.

Step 5: Throw in the diced potatoes, stir and cover.

Step 6: Add the cumin, coriander , GM powder, ginger  & tomato paste, salt and turmeric. Stir well and cover.

Step 7: Add the peel paste, mix nicely and cover. Cook for about 5 minutes and remove from heat. Keep sprinkling water if you feel that it is sticking to the pan. Done ! Great with roti or dal-rice, either way. This quantity will be sufficient for 2.

Banana peel is highly nutritious. Rich in Iron, Potassium and Calcium, banana peels are also important source of Vitamin B6, and C.

My website hаs a lot οf excluѕіѵe content I've either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help prevent content from being stolen? I'd genuinely apprecіate it.
